Notes from the liberal intensive care unit

Listening to panelists on the Steve Kornaki show making snide comments about Bernie Sanders was a helpful reminder of why liberalism is still in the intensive care unit. One panelist suggested that Sanders' supporters didn't really know where he stood on issues, implying that the senator had bizarre positions. In fact, Sanders would have been part of the liberal mainstream during either the New Deal or the Great Society, the last times liberals got anything significant done.

Because liberals today prefer demographic correctness - support a black or woman regardless of their position - over political perception the ability to even understand a Bernie Sanders is incapacitated for many. Regardless of whether you support him for the White House, he is a tiny island of political sanity on Capitol Hill.

He is almost sane. He thinks that manufacturing means jobs. Not any more. They are all lying. All. Every one.

The point is liberals can't get anything done, without the permission of their sponsors. Sanders does the sponsors a great favor by raising the issue of their control without offering any solution. He and Kornacki both have no clue how FDR actually governed by confronting the Court, not by smoking the amendment weed. See the fireside chat of 3-9-37. Without restoration of the electorate's control over elections, the US will continue to be the rogue empire that Sanders fully promotes. It is a professional left deception that Sanders departs from HRC orthodoxy in any meaningful way.

On the other hand, if his opposition to TPP is effective, he will deserve support if only for that one major victory, as much as Ike got elected for winning WWII. But Sanders does not give confidence that he will have any major victories.
